Cancel a live event

We understand that sometimes an event will have to be cancelled. Please follow the steps below if you need to cancel your event.

If tickets have been sold

For events where tickets have been sold or issued, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the relevant time and date of the event via the Organisation dashboard.

2. Select ‘Suspend sales’ for each instance, or time and date, of the event you wish to cancel. This will disable the links to the event page.

3. Contact attendees and inform them of the cancellation of the event. The email addresses of the attendees can be found on the Event time and date page.

4. Refund ticket via Stripe, noting that the platform and processing fees will not be refunded in the event of a cancellation.

5. No further action is needed within the Ticketize system as once the event date has passed the event will be officially cancelled.

If no tickets have been sold

In the case of an event for which no tickets have been sold, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the relevant time and date of the event via the Organisation dashboard.

2. Select ‘Suspend sales’ for each instance, or time and date, of the event you wish to cancel. This will disable the links to the event page.

3. No further action is needed as once the event date has passed the event will be officially cancelled.
